Named for a fishing village on Peru's northern coast, Huanchaco brings the true flavors of that heritage to First Street in Brentwood.
The village behind the name
Huanchaco is a coastal village where fishermen have ridden reed boats — caballitos de totora — through the Pacific surf for centuries. We named this restaurant after that place because the food we cook comes directly from that culture.
Recipes from the northern coast
Northern Peruvian cooking is defined by slow heat, fresh citrus, and deep coastal roots. Dishes like Seco a la Norteña — a cilantro-braised beef stew — ask patience of the cook and reward it at the table.
A table on First Street
We opened on First Street to give this community a seat at a Peruvian table — whole rotisserie chickens, pitchers of Chicha Morada, and plates of Ceviche de Pescado bright with fresh lime. The dog-friendly patio is always open.
Your first time or your hundredth
Whether you've been eating Peruvian food your whole life or you're ordering ceviche for the first time, we cook every plate the same way — with genuine ingredients and no shortcuts. Pull up a chair.
